Onley Arms kept their push on for the Essex Invitation Petanque League title with a 3-0 win at Three Elms 2.
In the triples, the Blows family of Trevor, Daniel and Denise, playing her first competitive game for ten years, outplayed their hosts in a 13-5 win.
The pairs saw Daniel Blows partner girlfriend Laura Carter in her first-ever game and come back from a 9-4 deficit to take the game 13-9, before Trevor Blows held on in a tight finish to the singles to complete the 3-0 victory with a 13-12 success.
At Bocking 1, Malcolm Smith, Pam Adams and David Adams took the triples 13-8 against Thorley. Smith was beaten by the same score in the singles, but the deciding pairs saw David Adams and David Robinson win 13-9 in a close game for a win that put Bocking one point ahead of Thorley into third place.
Three Elms 1 remained second behind Onley Arms with a 2-1 win at Blackwater U3A.
