STANWAY ROVERS joint-assistant boss Danny Slatter scored a wonder goal to give his side a 1-0 victory at Mildenhall.

The success extended the club’s long unbeaten run and leaves them seventh in the premier division, with at least two games in hand on all the sides above.

Slattter struck early on with a thunderous 35-yard effort that flew in via the underside of the bar, after playing a slick one-two with Jake Clowsley.

Elsewhere in the Thurlow Nunn League premier division, WIVENHOE TOWN lost 2-0 at Diss, in a big match for two sides near the foot of the table, while FC CLACTON succumbed to a 1-0 defeat at Fakenham.

The only goal in that match was a first-half penalty.

BRANTHAM ATHLETIC had no fixture this weekend.

In division one, HALSTEAD TOWN’S match at Dereham Town Reserves was postponed, while BRAINTREE TOWN RESERVES drew 3-3 at home to Woodbridge.
