While the result may not have been the one he was after, Witham Town manager Garry Kimble was pleased by his team's performance in their 1-0 Ryman League premier division defeat at Dulwich Hamlet.

He said: “To be fair, there wasn’t much in it.

“Their goal came from a shot from 30 yards, but we matched them in every department other than that.

“We could hold our heads up high after that performance in front of a big crowd of almost 900 and it shows that there’s not much between the top and the bottom of this league.

“I felt we matched them, but Lady Luck just wasn’t on our side on the day."
