Braintree Town will be looking to find their scoring touch with the Vanarama Conference Premier visit of Torquay United to the Miles Smith Stadium today.

Jordan Cox is hopeful of returning from a back injury for the game, but Dan Walker’s hamstring problem is worse than had been thought and may keep him out for a couple of weeks.

Manager Alan Devonshire said: “It’s a blow as we hoped Dan would be back in and him being out cuts down on the changes that I can make.”

Charlie Strutton has recovered from a sickness bug that stopped him training ahead of the Sudbury game, though, and Devonshire said he would start against Torquay, while Remy Clerima is also clear of illness that sidelined him last week.

Devonshire also said that he is keeping an eye on his squad options over Christmas and will decide whether he needs to augment it in January.

He said: “I’m planning ahead for January and have a few things in place if I need to get players in on loan.

“We’ll see how we are after Christmas.

“There are four or five games coming up over that spell and I’ll see how it goes.”
