Mo Osman hopes his Wivenhoe Town players can use their victory over Gorleston as a catalyst for more success.

The Greens took an early lead but goals from Hasan Ayten and Charlie Goodlake ensured a dramatic and timely 2-1 victory for the Dragons.

It was their first Thurlow Nunn League success since September 13.

The Dragons face a tricky match at Norwich United this weekend before welcoming neighbours FC Clacton – two points and one place above them in the table – to the Maple Tree Cars Stadium on December 27.

Osman said: “It’s easy to get carried away after one win but we certainly hope to use this result as a springboard, to try and get back to the form we showed early in the season.

“We know what we want to achieve this season and want to stay up on our own merit (rather than relying on a reprieve).

“We’ve got tough games coming up but if we apply ourselves like this then we’ll always have a chance.”
