Witham Town conceded a stoppage-time goal as they were held to a 2-2 draw at Lewes in Ryman League premier division.

Garry Kimble’s team had been leading 2-1 heading into the final exchanges at the Dripping Pan, but were unable to see out time unscathed as they conceded an equaliser in the 93rd minute.

Witham had led 2-0 thanks to goals by Luke Callander and Josh Banton, but the hosts drew level late on as Town were pegged back to their seventh league draw of the season.

There was also a draw for HEYBRIDGE SWIFTS in Ryman One North, but this time it was the Essex club who came from behind to claim a share of the spoils at Scraley Road.

Nikki Beales did put the hosts ahead against Soham Town Rangers in the 14th minute, but they found themselves trailing 3-1 as the visitors hit three goals in eight minutes before the break.

However, Joe Pearman’s 56th minute penalty halved the deficit and Chris Bryan struck with seven minutes left to earn a point for Keith Wilson’s team.

There was a win for MALDON & TIPTREE on the road, though, as a Cliff Akurang hat-trick and a goal from Tunde Adewunni helped Alan Kimble’s side to a 4-2 win at Cheshunt.
