Halstead Road Runners long-distance legend Andy Wilmot successfully completed the Great Barrow Challenge by running a remarkable ten marathons in ten days.
In doing so, the 70-year-old has become the eldest of the 15 runners in the UK to have completed this gruelling test of marathon endurance.
Starting on the first day at Barrow near Bury St Edmunds and continuing every day for the following nine, Wilmot, who has run more than 600 marathons, clocked up a total of more than 262 miles with an accumulated time of 46 hours 55 minutes and an average time of 4h 41m per run.
