Colchester United boss Joe Dunne will not make any panic signings - despite Tosin Olufemi being ruled out for around six months with an ankle injury.

Olufemi has already undergone surgery after rupturing his Achilles tendon in the U’s pre-season friendly at Bishop’s Stortford, last week.

The 20-year-old, who made 14 appearances for Colchester last season, will wear a plaster cast for the next fortnight and then a special boot for around ten weeks, before starting his rehabilitation.

Before the so called pre season preparation started-there was a general consensus that Injuries were to avoided at all costs before 9th August.
That was the reason for playing 22 per game.
ONCE AGAIN another serious injury and panic before a single league minute is played.

Seriously?

We played 22 players for a couple of weeks, building up to being able to play longer.

Realistically though, a ruptured achilles tendon isn't a stress injury in that respect. Playing him for less time wouldn't have necessarily made a difference.
