Braintree Town manager Alan Devonshire has said he may consider long-term loan deals to bring players into the club this summer – but he has no plans to at the moment.

Devonshire is busy building his squad for a fourth campaign in the Conference Premier next season, with a new striker high on his list of priorities.

The Iron boss has used the loan market to good effect during the course of the last few seasons, with the likes of Charlie Strutton, Britt Assombalonga and Bernard Mensah all enjoying success in Braintree colours during temporary spells with the club.

And while Devonshire isn’t ruling out any longer-term loan additions this summer, he is setting his sights firmly on securing permanent signings before he approaches other clubs for the use of their players.
