Halstead Cricket Club captain Charlie Douglas-Hughes was particularly pleased with how his bowlers performed as they recorded their second Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship division two win of the season.
The bowlers spearheaded the win against Exning as they restricted the hosts to 168 for six, before Halstead chased the total down for a four-wicket victory.
Douglas-Hughes said: “It was a really good result for us.
“We bowled particularly well after losing the toss and being asked to bowl.
“Maybe we didn’t take as many wickets as we would have hoped but the bowlers did a very good containing job.
“There were a few shaky moments in our innings, but we got over the line in the end.”
