METAL band Minerva Falls are just one of three rock groups set to shake the foundations of the Castlemayne tomorrow night.
The five-piece outfit from Southend have had a busy nine months since forming in April last year.
They finished runners up in the Rockstar Energy Drink 2009 Battle of the Bands and have also made it through to the regional finals of the Live and Unsigned music competition.
Lead singer Ross Martin even appeared in a TV advert for phone company T-Mobile.
They will be playing their Metallica and Soundgarden-inspired hard rock songs at tomorrow’s gig.
Joining Minerva Falls are Last Chance Saloon, a blues-based heavy rock outfit from Basildon.
Describing their style as a mixture of Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, with Metallica-like production, the band have performed at the Castlemayne several times.
Rock trio the Zoot Suits, who also come from Basildon, complete the line-up with their sounds influenced by Buddy Holly, the Small Faces and the Beatles.
Doors to the venue, in The Knares, Basildon, open at 8pm. Admission is free.
