A LANDSCAPE gardener will be showing off his homegrown musical talent at the world’s biggest Northern Soul festival.
Billy Pearson, 28, of Hullbridge, has recently joined one of the UK’s leading Northern Soul bands, The Signatures and will be playing at the Northern Soul Weekender this weekend at Butlins Resort, Skegness.
Billy learnt to play the drums aged 14 at The Sweyne Park School, Rayleigh.
However, he has recently go on to learn how to play the congas, bongos, tambourine and shakers.
Billy said: “It will be my first time playing at Skegness and I cannot wait.
“It’s going to be a weekend to remember.
“I feel very lucky to be part of The Signatures.
“ They are a fantastic group of very talented musicians.
“We just have fun and enjoy playing soul music.”
Gavin Creates-Webb, drummer and manger, said the festival was a great opportunity for the band.
He added: “This gig is a dream come true for us.
“It’s been a lot of hard work, and commitment.”
