Iconic British band Soul II Soul are coming to the Cliffs Pavilion in Westcliff as part of their landmark tour of the UK.
The group will take to the stage on May 10, paying tribute to their legendary debut album, ‘Club Classics Vol 1’.
The performance comes after the popular band was billed to headline Southend’s Soul Crusade Festival, attracting thousands of fans, in May last year.
But disaster struck when a freak power surge fried “half-a-million pounds” worth of high-tech music gear, forcing the event to close early, leaving Soul II Soul unable to perform.
During the course of their stellar career, the band have sold over 10 million albums worldwide and main man Jazzie B was awarded an OBE for services to music in 2008, as well as winning an Ivor Novello Award for Inspiration, as “the man who gave British black music a soul of its own”.
Tickets for Southend members are on pre-sale on Saturday, February 17.
General tickets go on sale on Monday, February 19.
