Enthusiasts are getting their classic vehicles ready for a new monthly event in town.

In a joint venture between the Roman Roadsters, Colchester’s Alternative Classic Vehicle Group, and the Colchester Sea Cadets a classic vehicle show will be taking place on the Hythe.

John Killick from Roman Roadsters says: “We’ve been looking for a new venue for our monthly classic vehicle meets and the support of the Sea Cadets and use of their lightship TS Colne Light gives us a brilliant new location at the heart of Colchester”.

The new ‘Cars on the Colne’ event will be held on the third Sunday of each month starting this Sunday, February 18.

Andrew Devenall of the Sea Cadets adds: “Not only will our Lightship make a great backdrop to the classic vehicles, but we’ll be opening the ship from 10am to midday. Vehicle exhibitors and the public can come aboard to enjoy a cuppa and bacon sandwich. All proceeds from the catering will be ploughed back to support our cadets."

Classic vehicles, their owners, and the public are all welcome to the free event, which runs from 10am to 1pm. For more information go to romanroadsters.co.uk
