A caring youngster braved the scissors in aid of children less fortunate than herself.
Seven-year-old Sophie White, of Southchurch Avenue, Southend, cut 12 inches off her flowing locks, raising £223 for the Little Princess Trust in the process.
Mum, Kelly, said: “I am so proud of her, it was all her own idea as well. She had seen another little girl who had done it, and said ‘mummy can I do that when I am old enough’? I told her she could do it whenever she wants and she said yes straight away.
“She had no doubt, and did not hesitate once.
“We’re incredibly proud of her for this selfless act. She’s so excited that she may be able to help a child who has lost their hair to cancer and would love it if people could sponsor her.” Visit justgiving.com/fundraising/kelly-white29
