An elderly couple have been left extremely shaken after armed thugs forced their way into a Basildon home and threatened the owners.
Yesterday afternoon (September 22) at about 3.40pm, an unknown number of suspects smashed the back door window of a house in Timberlog Lane.
After forcing entry, they threatened a couple, aged 87 and 97, with what is believed to have been pick axes.
They then searched the property before stealing a gold bracelet and four necklaces. The victims were unharmed but extremely shaken.
There are no descriptions of the suspects, however, police ask anyone who has information to call Basildon police station on 101.
Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
