A NURSE at Basildon Hospital is having his back waxed to raise money for the patients he cares for.
Shane Brennan, 39, from Basildon, works in the chemotherapy unit at the hospital and will have his back shaved on Saturday at Ladies and Gentleman Salon, in Whitmore Way, Basildon, at 11.30am.
He said: “I wasn’t expecting to raise that much so people must want to see me in pain!
“My patients experience pain and discomfort for a long time and I just thought that the discomfort I will feel for 45 minutes could help give something back.”
The patients on the ward will decide where the money will go.
