A FAMILY firm has unveiled a new butcher’s stall in Basildon market.
The owners of Artemis Foods, in Whitmore Way, Basildon, will be offering a selection of high-quality and low cost meat on market days.
The firm is fronted by experienced butcher Douglas McGlynn, 57, in partnership with sons John, 35, and Mark, 33.
Douglas has been in the industry for 40 years and is looking forward to the new challenge.
The Whitmore Way stall also specialise in high-quality meat sourced from Smithfields in London, as well as selling raw pet food and making home deliveries.
Co-owner Mark Mcglynn, said: “With inflation outstripping wage growth the cost of living is rising, so we have opened our new market lodge to ‘ease the squeeze’.
“Our market lodge will be concentrating on some lesser known but just as tasty cuts, without compromising on quality.
“From hearts and offal, to beef shin and oxtail; our lodge will have a great range of cheaper fresh meat available, along with some amazing frozen deals, too.”
The company is named after Artemis, the Greek goddess of the hunt.
