YOU could soon be sipping a latte while learning as Seevic College launches a range of courses held in Costa Coffee branches.

Seevic College, which is based in Runnymede Chase, Benfleet, will be teaching a variety of courses at Costa Coffee stores in Leigh and Rayleigh.

In partnership with PopUp College, tutors will offer courses in everything from starting your own business to brushing up your maths skills - all while enjoying a cuppa and cake.

Seevic College Principal, Dan Pearson, said: “This is a really innovative idea and takes college out into the community to engage with people.

“We’ve got some really talented staff taking up courses and students will get the chance to learn something new every evening.

“We are hoping to explore other courses we can offer and hoping to expand into other Costa Coffee branches in south Essex so we can reach more students.”

In Leigh, students can sign up to Philosophy of Yoga with sessions delivered by art teacher Steve Dowson and learn basic postures, breathing and meditation techniques or kickstart 2017 with a Diet and Nutrition course run by sport teacher Luke Brewster.

In Rayleigh, budding entrepreneurs can learn how to set up their businesses from creating a plan to budgeting and marketing.

In the same branch, an exam revision and maths homework club will give students struggling with their homework at GCSE level a place to come and get expert help.

Courses are due to start in the week commencing February 20 and there are a limited number of places per branch.

PopUp College, founded by entrepreneur Jason Elsom, partners colleges with Costa Coffee branches for adult education classes, which will be held in the evenings.
