INTERACTIVE exhibitions will run at 11 libraries across the country to mark Holocaust Memorial Day on Friday.
Basildon Library, in the Basildon Centre St. Martin's Square, and Wickford Library, in Market Road, as well as Writtle Library, Galleywood Library and Chelmsford Library, will host exhibitions, which link in with the theme of this year's event is How Can Life Go On?".
The displays will include a specially curated collection of books which cast light on the tragedies of the holocaust and the courage and love displayed by those who survive similar experiences.
Councillor Anne Brown, Cabinet member for libraries, said: βIt is important that we never forget the terrible events of the holocaust and Holocaust Memorial Day gives us an opportunity to remember and reflect. It is our duty to teach future generations about the events that took place as well as the aftermath when so many innocent lives were taken from us.β
