A bundle of four golden Labrador puppies that were dumped over a garden fence have been rescued by RSPCA inspectors.

The fluffy foursome are believed to be around two months old and were found by a householder in Templewood Road in Benfleet yesterday morning.

Inspectors are now appealing for information as to how they got there and who might have dumped them.

Rescuers have named the pups after 1950’s icon Sinatra, Elvis, Jimmy Dean and Marilyn.

Insp Marie Hammerton said: “These poor four pups were found just dumped over the back fence of a home in Benfleet.

“How anyone could abandon them with no care for their well-being is just beyond me.

“They have all been checked over by a vet and thankfully they are all ok.

“They are so gorgeous. We called the pup with the blue eyes Sinatra - because he reminded us of ol’ blue eyes. The other three have all been named after ‘50s icons Marilyn, Jimmy Dean and Elvis Presley.

“Sadly none of these pups are chipped so we are asking for anyone who may know where they have come from to get in contact with us.

“Anyone with information should contact our Inspector Appeal Line on 0300 123 8018.”
