A man has been left with cuts to his face and chest by a person armed with what is believed to be knife.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was approached from behind in Allysum Walk at around 4am on Monday by someone who then grabbed the collar of his t-shirt and pulled him backwards.

The victim was then assaulted, tried to defend himself and the attacker made off.

The victim was left with a number of cuts believed to have been made with a knife – five to his face, a deep laceration to his shoulder which required stitches, and a laceration to his chest.
