A WOMAN has been charged with drugs and driving offences following a police operation at the weekend.

Unemployed Joanne Warner, 36, of Bardfield Way, Rayleigh, has been charged with driving whilst disqualified, possession of cocaine and failing to provide a specimen.

She has been bailed to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court on January 4.

A 40-year-old man from Basildon is still in custody awaiting recall to prison but has been bailed until January 19 in relation to theft of a motor vehicle and driving whilst disqualified.

A 46-year-old man from Rayleigh who was also arrested has been released from custody without charge.

Acting on intelligence, officers identified a suspected stolen white BMW 320 on cloned number plates at the BP Garage in London Road, Rayleigh, on Saturday evening.

They attended the service station shortly after 8pm and stopped two vehicles, a white BMW and a grey Vauxhall Astra.
