The award winning Rayleigh Windmill will be hosting a small museum as well as a self-contained exhibition space on the 2nd floor and is offering artists and voluntary community groups the opportunity to use the exhibition space to promote their work and the work of their organisation.

The Windmill will be open on Wednesdays 10am-1pm on Saturdays and Sundays 1-4pm from the beginning of April to the end of September 2017 and each year welcomes thousands of visitors from the local area.

There is no charge for artist and community exhibitions. Artists and groups would be allocated approximately 4 weeks in the space and would be expected to ‘staff’ the exhibition when the Windmill is open.

The deadline for expressing an interest in this opportunity is Friday January 13.

Please email leisure@rochford.gov.uk and answer the following questions:

• How do you propose to use the exhibition space?

• How will you engage with the public and visitors to the Windmill?

• How will you make your exhibition accessible to all ages (bearing in mind the Windmill is frequently visited by families with small children)?

• Are you or a member of your group able to ‘staff’ the exhibition when the Windmill is open?

Potential exhibitors will be invited to view the exhibition space on Friday January 27 at 10am. Invites will be sent Friday January 20.
