Two people charged with killing a pensioner in a Chelmsford home have denied murder.
Michael McDonald, 24, of Tennyson Road, Chelmsford and Terri Hurry, 41, of Spring Rise, Galleywood, appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court yesterday to face murder charges.
Both denied the charge and the trial was fixed for Monday, December 12.
The pair are accused of killing Brian Hurry in Chelmsford on Saturday, June 18.
Mr Hurry was found dead at his home in Bramwoods Road shortly after 5pm.
A post-mortem examination found a provisional cause of death as head injuries caused by blunt force trauma.
Police have further charged a woman with perverting the course of justice in connection with the murder investigation.
Anna Blackwell, 20, of Tennyson Road, Chelmsford, was charged on Friday, August 19, having originally been arrested on June 21.
She has been released on police bail to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on September 21.
