THE public can now tour a famous windmill from the comfort of their own homes.
Rochford Council have created a virtual tour of the Rayleigh Windmill, set up for a civic ceremony where anyone can take a guided 360-degree tour from a computer, smartphone or tablet.
Rochford District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Community, June Lumley said: “We are very proud of our heritage especially the Rayleigh Windmill.
“Time and time again visitors are wowed by what they see when they walk in through the doors so it is really exciting to be able to share that experience with people the world over at any time of day.”
The Windmill is also a unique wedding venue venue which is the current Essex Wedding Awards: Wedding Venue of the Year – Something Different 2015
