A TRAMPOLINE park has confirmed it will open in Basildon next month, creating up to 40 jobs.

The new Gravity Force site, next to the Festival Leisure Park, will be among the biggest trampoline centre's across the whole country.

The indoor park, featuring more than 50 interconnected trampolines, will host its grand opening on Saturday, March 12.

Managing director Richard Simpson said: “We cannot wait to open Gravity Force Basildon, both the facility and location are absolutely phenomenal.

“We are very excited to be bringing the UK’s ultimate trampoline park to Basildon to be enjoyed by local residents of all ages.”

In August, councillors in Basildon the recommendation of officers and approved an application from Gravity Force for the warehouse in Festival Way.

The park is also set to feature a jumping area, foam pit and an area for sports including dodgeball and volleyball.

Gravity Force, which offers exercise classes for children, teenagers and adults, opened its first site in Camberley, Surrey, in 2014.

It is opening its second site, in Sunderland, later this month.

The Festival Way project had been put in doubt when planning officers argued it would “prejudice the viability of the borough’s town centres."

It will be competing against Dropzone, another trampoline park which opened in the former Robins Cinema, in North Gunnels, Basildon town centre, last March.

Gravity Force is currently recruiting for four roles - court monitors, front of house staff, party hosts and baristas.

It is expected to open from 10am until 10pm on weekdays, and 9am until 11pm on weekends.
