A man was robbed by a gang of four men who pinned him to the floor as he was walking in Pitsea.
A 47-year-old man was walking along Luncies Road at about 10pm on Friday January 15 when he was grabbed from behind.
He was forced to the ground and held down by four or five men.
His pockets were searched and they stole his wallet, mobile phone and a three figure sum of cash.
The suspects then ran off in the direction of The Winged Horse pub.
They were described as white and aged in their late teens or early 20s. Two wore parka-style coats with fur-trimmed hoods, and the others wore hooded tops.
He suffered shoulder pain and a cut on his knee.
