BIN collections will be delayed by one day next week following the Easter bank holiday.
Basildon Council is reminding residents to keep track of their revised refuse and recycling collection dates as they aim to minimise disruption.
James Hendry, Basildon Council’s street scene manager, said: “Most Easter egg packaging is recyclable in your weekly pink sack collection – plastic, cardboard and even aluminium foil.
“By making the most of your pink sack collection, you can help the borough boost the recycling rate in 2015.”
