A VOTE to decide members of Basildon Council will be held on the same day as the general election.
Elections will be held in 14 of the 42 wards in the borough on Thursday, May 7.
Borough council elections are held three years out of four, with one third of the council being elected on each occasion.
Nomination papers for the election must be delivered to the returning officer at the Basildon Centre, in St Martin’s Square, by 4pm on Thursday, April 9.
New applications to vote in the election must be received by the council by Tuesday, April 28, at the latest.
One borough councillor will be elected in each of the following wards: Billericay East, Billericay West, Burstead, Fryerns, Laindon Park, Lee Chapel North, Nethermayne, Pitsea North West, Pitsea South East, St Martin’s, Vange, Wickford Castledon, Wickford North, Wickford Park.
An election to choose members of Shotgate Parish Council will also be held on Thursday, May 7, if more than seven nominations are received.
