POLICE have released CCTV of a man they want to identify in connection with an attempted theft at a convenience store in Grays.

Two men entered the Co-op in Lodge Lane at around 8.15pm on Monday, March 23, and removed more than £100 worth of meat from the display.

As they went to leave, without attempting to pay, they were challenged by a female staff member, who was then pushed, causing reddening to her wrists.

The men left empty-handed.

Anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV image is asked to contact DS Natalia Ross at Grays CID on 101.

They can also contact the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
