A CANVEY primary school planted 200 new trees across its site as part of a national campaign.
William Read Primary School, in Long Road, hopes it will eventually be able to run forest school sessions, which see youngsters step outside the classroom to learn more about the great outdoors.
Each class has been named after a different type of tree, and all pupils got their hands dirty planting.
Parents were also invited to get involved in the Big Tree Plant campaign.
