A MAN has been arrested after sex attacks on two women in Laindon.
A 39-year-old man from Basildon has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault after two women were attacked in Laindon within 15 minutes on Saturday.
In the first incident, at 8pm, a woman, 23, was approached by a man in an alleyway near Spire Road.
He tried to talk to her, before grabbing her by her hair and punching her in the stomach.
Two men heard what was happening and the attacker ran off when they came to the victim’s aid.
About 15 minutes later, a girl, 16, was approached near a bus stop in Hatterill, close to the train station, by a man who tried to talk to her.
He then tried to drag the victim into bushes nearby before two young men intervened and the attacker ran off.
Detectives are questioning the man.
