A FLOOD alert has been issued for the coastline from St Peters Flat to Shoebury, as well as the Crouch and Roach estuaries.

The Environment Agency issued the alerts shortly before 12pm today and will update their information for Wednesday morning's tide.

A combination of tidal surge and high winds, caused by the remnants of hurricane Gonzalo, is resulting in a forecast surge height of 3.12m.
