A CHILDREN’S hospice will keep its gardens in tip-top condition thanks to a generous company.

The Under Floor Heating Store in Basildon donated £500 earlier this year to Little Havens Hospice, in Thundersley.

The hospice cares for babies, children and teenagers with lifelimiting conditions.

The donation will help update the Gardening Club’s tool shed with newwheelbarrows, spades, forks, a hose and gloves.

More than 30 volunteers from Havens Hospices Garden Club tend to the gardens at both Little Havens and Fair Havens Hospice for adults in Westcliff, helping plant flowers and vegetables, weeding, cutting the lawn and doing general maintenance.

In the four years, the Under Floor Heating Store has been supporting Little Havens and has raised almost £30,000.

Daniel Lodge, office manager of the Under Floor Heating Store, said: “We have supported Little Havens for many years as the specialist care they provide for families in our community is vital. You never knowwhen you might need them.

“They can only function with donations, and as a local business, we’re only too happy to help support this amazing local charity. It was great to pay a visit and see exactly where the money we donated is being used and the difference the new equipment will make.”

Peter Hall, Little Havens community fundraiser, said: “I can’t thank the Under Floor Heating Store enough for their generous donation.

“They have been a supporter of ours for many years and it is only with supporters like them that we can continue making every day count for those we care for, and their families.”
