ECONOMIC growth in the Rochford district will be given a kick start later this month as the district council host their first ever business summit.

The free event is open to local businesses who want to help shape the economic growth strategy that will drive investment opportunities over the next three years.

It will also act as a chance for businesses to engage with council leaders and network with other businesses.

The council’s head of planning and transportation, Shaun Scrutton, said: “The Rochford District Growth Strategy is vital because it will encourage investment, innovation, and be the driving force to strengthen and build upon the entrepreneurial character of the District. “The Rochford District is an area which is flourishing with the expansion of London Southend Airport and it is important that we make the most of the opportunities this will bring.”

The event will include business-related workshops by professionals and government bodies, including specialists from the council, Essex Police, Low Carbon Business, Trading Standards.

The summit will be at the Rayleigh Club, Hullbridge Road, Rayleigh, between 1.45pm and 5pm on Wednesday, April 23.
