YOUNGSTERS can learn about making chocolate and then put their skills into practice at a special workshop.

The Museum of Power in Hatfield Road, Langford, will be hosting a series of workshops called The Power of Chocolate Experience throughout August.

There will be workshops held every Friday in the month - 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31.

Each workshop lasts an hour and includes learning about the history of chocolate and how chocolate is made.

Little ones will then have the opportunity to create their own designs which can be taken home and enjoyed.

The sessions are being run in association with Maldon Chocolates.

Mike Simons, who runs the shop in Wenlock Way, Maldon, said: “The museum approached me and asked if I would like to do it and I said yes.

“It’s like an interactive show really.

“I’ll be teaching them about tempering chocolate, how it’s mixed, where cocoa beans come form, and more.

“I know the take up has been huge for it.”

Mr Simons, who opened the shop back in 2015, also suggested that he may do other one-off events in the future. and, according to their website, has established itself as a “must go to” among Maldon’s chocoholics.

There are only ten spaces available per session and places are limited.

Sessions are £3 each for children older than five.
