The 47-year-old, from Burnham, was found injured at about 1am.

Despite medics’ best efforts he was pronounced dead shortly after 2am.

A post-mortem examination found Mr Evans suffered multiple stab wounds.

A cause of death has been given as a stab wound to the chest.

In a statement, his family said: “Lee was a kind, protective and loving person.

“Although he was living a lifestyle we wouldn’t have chosen, he was caring and protective of his family and friends.

“He idolised his son, and loved his nephews.

“Lee was very kind, not just to people in the family, but to others as well who knew he would be there to look after them.

“He loved being with people.”

The family added: “Animals were Lee’s passion, including his dogs Roxy and Millie. He was very soft at heart.

“We will miss him more than we can ever say. He will always be in our hearts.”

Four people were initially arrested on suspicion of murder but have been released from custody and will face no further action.
