A man was rushed to hospital with head injuries following a brawl on a village high street.
Both police and the ambulance service were called to Earls Colne High Street around 4pm yesterday following reports of a disturbance outside the Drapers Hotel.
Once officers brought the fight to an end, two men, aged 58 and 33 were arrested on suspicion of assault.
Both men have now been released under investigation.
A man in his 20's who was caught up in the brawl suffered head injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics. He was later taken to Colchester hospital however Essex Police say his injuries are not life threatening.
Another man, also in his twenties, was also treated and then discharged by paramedics at the scene.
DS Becky Young from Braintree CID said: “This was an unacceptable incident leaving one person injured.
“We are working to identify further people who we believe to have been involved.
“Anyone with information but who hasn’t spoken to us yet, please get in touch.”
