A SELECTION of gin made by the world-renowned Wilkin & Sons will on supermarket shelves in a bid to mark World Gin Day.

On Saturday, Tesco will stock Tiptree English Raspberry and English Rhubarb Gin Liqueurs in15 stores across the county.

Steven Brooks, local sourcing manager for Tesco, said: “At Tesco, we are always on the hunt for exceptional produce made by local suppliers and it’s our mission to stock the cream of the crop.

“These liqueurs tick all the boxes, produced locally by companies with many years of expertise.

Scott Goodfellow, joint managing director of Wilkin & Sons, said: “We’re very proud to see our products on shelves in local Tesco stores.”

“We recommend the liqueurs enjoyed straight over ice, with your favourite mixer, or added to Prosecco or Champagne for a sparkling Tiptree Fruit Gin Royale.”

The Wilkin family has been fruit farming in Tiptree since the 1800s.

The gin will be stocked in Maldon, Braintree, Colchester, Clacton as well as others across the county.
