A church in Heybridge managed to raise more than £1,000 for a hospice.
St. George's church in Basin Road, Heybridge Basin handed over a cheque to J’s Hospice last month on April 18.
Over the past few winters the Friends of St George’s luncheon club have been hosting a monthly “Soup and Dessert” luncheon.
This was made possible by organisers Sharman Milsted and Pauline Abbott.
In total, £1,100 was donated to the J’s Hospice in Newland Street, Witham.
The J’s Hospice provides care for young adults with life limiting and life threatening conditions as well as support for their families.
