A dentist will be lacing up her running shoes to take on the London Marathon in aid of a children’s hospice.

Laura Frost, 40, of New Road, Tollesbury, will be taking on the 26 mile race in April for Shooting Star Chase.

She is supporting the charity in memory of a friend’s daughter who died aged two after a battle with eye cancer.

Shooting Star Chase, which is a children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, supported the family during the battle.

Laura said: “In my role as a community dentist I witness first hand how important this support is to children affected by life limiting conditions.

“Whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months or years, they are there to make every moment count.

“They support families from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.”

Laura took part in the Hampton Court Palace half marathon last weekend as part of her preparations for the London race.
