YOUNGSTERS were honoured for a year of hard work at a teen advice charity awards evening.

Teen Talk Harwich, an advice charity for 11 to 25-year-olds, held its annual awards evening at the Park Pavilion on November 27.

The event is held to celebrate the achievements of young people who have taken part in various activities over the past year.

In 2017 that has included a six-week cookery course, school holiday activities, youth group Harwich Inspired Youth Action, a wildlife project and a volunteering programme.

Project manager Jodie Hall said the evening was a brilliant success and saw special guests including the High Sheriff of Essex, the Mayor and Mayoress of Harwich, chairman of Tendring Council, chairman of Essex County Council and local councillors attend.

She added: “I feel honoured to get to work with some truly amazing and inspiring young people and all of us at Teen Talk feel very proud of them as they should of themselves.”

There were also representatives of various agencies across Tendring, friends and family of the young people receiving awards, live music by Zoe Bishop and the Magic Mirror photo booth from Dovercourt Bay Event Hire.

Jodie said: “Teen Talk would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who has donated and supported us over this past year including all local businesses who donated raffle prizes for the awards evening.”
