A TENNIS club took to the courts for a non-stop day of sport to raise money for charity.

The tennis crews at Forrester Park Golf and Country Club in Great Totham played for 12 hours straight at their courts on Saturday as part of their annual event to raise money for charity.

This year’s event was organised by club member Fiona Price, and has so far raised more than £500 for Diabetes UK.

Tim Eacott, chairman of the tennis club, said: “Saturday’s 12 hours of tennis had loads of good tennis and great club atmosphere, generated by around 40 people who came along at some point during the day.

“My thanks go to all those who made it such a fantastic event. At the end of a busy 12 hour session, we had a highly competitive men's doubles match on one court, plus plenty of laughter and banter from a three-a-side, left-handed match on another.

“I think that combination of competitive/fun, members/visitors, school age/retired, all having fun on the tennis courts together, really encapsulated Forrester Park Tennis Club for me and long may it continue.

“Over £550 has been raised so far but we want to push this beyond £600 if we can.”
