AN EVENTS company is celebrating after a hugely successful Easter event in Maldon.

Cosplay Events, run by Kirsty Richardson and Clare Nixon, organised an Eggcellent Easter Eggstravaganza on Good Friday in Promenade Park, raising hundreds of pounds for charity.

Families came out in droves to the park in Maldon, where many enjoyed bouncy castles, roundabouts, bungee trampolines as well as dozens of spring and Easter themed stalls including pygmy hedgehogs.

Children also got a chance to meet the Easter Bunny, design their own eggs for the egg rolling competition, as well as an Easter egg hunt in the events field. At the end of the day, the event raised just over £500 for the Ronald McDonald House Charity Evelina.

The charity is London based and supports families while their child receives care and treatment in a specialist children’s hospital by giving them a warm and welcoming place to rest their heads just a moment away from their child. They have helped tens of thousands of families during some of the toughest periods in their lives.

Kirsty Richardson, joint-owner of Cosplay Events, said: “It was a huge success, thanks must go to our fantastic support team without whom we couldn’t run these events.

“We run these kind of events in memory of my nephew, Michael, who sadly passed away at six months old following heart surgery, and raise funds for the house as my brother and sister in law stayed there whilst Michael was in hospital. We had an excellent turnout of families at our event throughout the weekend and are extremely happy with how it went. We are really looking forward to booking our next event there.” Visit www.cosplay-events.co.uk.
