A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of drug offences after being stopped by police.
The arrest was made by two special constables on Friday, who spotted a damaged BMW travelling at speed along rural roads near to Maldon.
When the car, which was being driven by a 30-year-old from Maldon, was stopped the two officers spotted a large quantity of money in the car along with several mobile phones.
The man was later searched and a number of wraps containing a substance suspected to be cocaine were seized.
He was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and driving while under the influence of drugs.
He has been released under investigation and enquires are ongoing.
