BURNHAM RNLI were called out after a sailing yacht ran aground near South Woodham Ferrers.

The crew were called out by the Coastguard just after 7pm Thursday evening after a boat from Fambridge Yacht Haven with one crew member became lost.

The boat had run aground near Clements Green Creek, South Woodham Ferrers.

A spokesman for the RNLI said: “The RNLI crew started a search at the last known position, ultimately making contact with the vessel in Clements Green Creek, South Woodham Ferrers.

“They established all was well then took the vessel under tow and escorted it back to Fambridge. The weather conditions were calm but cold and it was dark by the time they found him.

“No injuries were sustained and both the sailing boat and the RNLI lifeboat returned to their respective berths without further incident.”
