A WOMAN whose stepdad videoed her in the bath with a spycam has lost her battle for compensation.

Bronwyn Watson, from Clacton, was horrified after she found out stepfather Nicholas Faux had been secretly filming her in the bathroom of her family home.

Police later found more than 900 indecent photos and videos on his laptop computers.

He was jailed for seven months in 2015 after admitting two charges of voyeurism and possessing indecent images of children.

Bronwyn, now 21, was was just 15 when the videos were made. She later applied to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority for compensation.

But she has now lost her battle after a judge ruled there was no threat leading to a fear of immediate unlawful violence at the time.

Bronwyn, who bravely waived her right to anonymity to reveal the nightmare her stepfather put her through, said she was disappointed by the ruling and would continue to campaign for a change in the law so victims of voyeurism are entitled to compensation.

She said Faux had ruined her life.

Bronwyn successfully appealed against an earlier decision after a tribunal ruled she had been the direct victim of violence but that has now been overturned.

Speaking to the Gazette earlier this year, she said she wanted to help other victims, adding: "I don't want them to go through what I had to go through because it was horrible.

"I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy."
