A SHOCKED father has issued a stark warning after a rock was hurled at a moving car.

Trevor Redburn, from Dovercourt, was left stunned when his shaken wife arrived home on Tuesday evening.

She said a rock or stone had been thrown at her car while she was driving with their daughter at around 10pm, leaving a dent in the passenger side window.

Mr Redburn is warning others to keep an eye out for the culprits.

He said: “I am the owner of the car and my wife came home in tears and in shock.

“Our new car had been struck on the window by a stone or a rock.

“She was driving and my daughter was in the passenger seat.

“It was the passenger side window that was struck and my daughter has flinched down, my wife swerved across the road.

“She thought my daughter had been hit as she’s ducked down, so was very upset.

“Luckily enough the glass didn’t smash.

"It made a big noise and put a dent in the window.

“My wife got a quick glance of some youths in the trees.

"It was at the junction of Main Road and Barrack Lane near the entrance to the park.”
