A NEW climate-controlled research laboratory looks set to be built on a farm site in Lawford.

Agrochemex has been granted permission for the building which will sit alongside a laboratory at Aldhams Farm in Dead Lane.

The scheme includes a covered walkway which will link the two buildings, as well as a landscaped external courtyard and additional car parking.

The site is in a rural location outside the development boundary and currently contains existing farm buildings and light industrial units.

Tendring Council decided that the proposal will provide significant new employment opportunities for around 15 people without any adverse impact on the character and appearance of the area.

There were no objections from Lawford Parish Council.
